More than a few contemporary artists have exhibited everyday objects in exhibition halls or museums to demonstrate that context influences art, or at least what is considered art. Thus, people presuppose an ‘artistic value’ to what is shown in these spaces. In interior design, although in a very different way, everyday elements out of context, i.e. away from the space in which they are presupposed by their functionality, can provide an avant-garde touch and, of course, original that usually leaves no one indifferent. The bed is a good example. Although for logical reasons it is the central axis of the bedroom, it is increasingly used in the decoration of outdoor spaces as well as living rooms, where it does not lose functionality. The puff beds offer multiple possibilities in the decoration of living rooms, terraces or gardens. We review in this post some of Fiaka Ambient’s designs for outdoors and indoors. The Balinese bed, combined with cushions of different shapes, can complement and even replace – if space is more limited – the sofa. In large living rooms, where it is common to create different spaces, it gives much play to create minimalist environments. Outdoors, with different complements -whether cushions, curtains, wooden or metal structures- it has become a distinguishing element of elegant chill out & lounge terraces. The Sigmund divan, like the Balinese bed, can be used to create different atmospheres in the living room or to separate them. Also in offices, on the side of the stairs or in corridors – combined or not with a sideboard – it adds a touch of distinction. Indoors and outdoors, it invites to relax creating an original and cozy atmosphere.
Ideal for small spaces are the Flavia Bed, which can be used as an armchair or sofa when closed, and the Carlota model, a two-seater sofa bed that can change shape outdoors, especially indoors, depending on the needs of the public, but also on the time of day.
The Arena Pouf also offers this possibility: modern armchair or comfortable single bed depending on the space available or the user’s needs. In gardens or swimming pools it can be used as a casual sun lounger (see other models of sun loungers). But, without a doubt, the king of small spaces is the Folding Pouf, a bed that can be used as a unique table or sideboard. To give an Arabian, chill out or lounge touch -although also to transmit the feeling of comfort typical of spaces linked to maternity- both indoors and outdoors, the Marina model, a giant pouf -up to three people can lie down comfortably- and configurable in countless positions that multiply its versatility, or the Marina Infant pouf, a moldable, comfortable and fun piece designed mainly for children’s environments, although widely used as a complement to sofas and beds, can give a lot of play.
