At the end of July, in a post we talked about the summer looks that are setting trends in chill out and lounge decoration this year. We continue talking about some guidelines that are general in the interior design of premises, swimming pools and chill out terraces in 2012.
3. White and wood
Wood combined with white, an almost indissoluble marriage in Nordic decoration, never goes out of fashion in the interior design of terraces and chill out or lounge areas. The pair allows multiplying the luminosity of the space, giving a very relaxing natural touch.
Wood shades can vary from lighter brown tones, such as ash or cherry, to darker shades such as walnut. Their worn look, without sanding or maintaining the shape of the trunk to give a vintage or Provençal touch are trend-setting. For this purpose, flooring, tables and seats made from pallets or logs combined with rigid cubic or soft cubic puffers and white armchairs are often used. Also in this color, the giant puff type XL as well as the soft and rigid cylindrical ones, give very good results.
On the other hand, smooth, minimalist surfaces with white armchairs, sofas, beds and poufs and wood-toned tables give a more modern look. A good example is the terrace shown in the following photographs, designed by Tecnosoley with Fiaka Ambient furniture.
4. Color complements
The use of accessories such as candles, fabrics, rugs and cushions, among others, that give a touch of color to spaces where white, the color par excellence of this style, or white with some other color to reinforce the contrast, whether black, red, etc., is the main color.
Warm and vivid tones such as garnets, reds, oranges and violets, among others, fit very well with this style. In the following images of the Bellavista estate in Mijas and the Villapadierna hotel in Marbella, with an interior design designed by Decoración Chill Out, the good results of this trend can be seen, as well as one last one: Freud is becoming fashionable.
5. Freud becomes fashionable
It is not necessary to psychoanalyze the decoration of terraces and chill out places that set the trend this summer to realize that couches have become an element with great possibilities. Both indoors and outdoors, they provide distinction and invite relaxation, creating an original and cozy atmosphere. In this case, Decoración Chill Out has opted for our Sigmund Divan design, a tribute to Dr. Freud, combined with Nantes sofas and rigid cubic puffers of different sizes.
