Flower season is here! It is officially Spring, a season that invites us to renew the outdoor decoration. Taking advantage of the good weather that will take over the landscape and the thermometers we can give a spring touch to the terraces and balconies. A few brief tips are enough to achieve truly inspiring exteriors: 1.Fill the space with flowers and plants We start with the obvious. To give a spring touch to the balcony or terrace, plants and flowers that fill the space with colors, contrasts and life are a must. You can place them in flowerbeds or planters on the ground. If space is limited, we recommend hanging them on the wall or on the bars of the balcony itself. Likewise, if the exterior is of size S, it is advisable to take advantage of a shelf to fill it with plants or, simply, to place one on a small table to decorate it. If you do not have a shelf, you can always make your own. An old ladder resting on the wall will be enough, since its rungs will serve as shelves. To decorate with plants and flowers, we can also make original DIY planters with an infinite number of recycled objects: old teapots, shoes, hanging glass bottles, corks, cans, used wheels… With a little imagination to adapt your space to the plant, life will flourish, filling the outdoors with joy.

A high table complemented by beautifully designed chairs -whether in vibrant colors or in basic shades such as white, black, earth or wood (accompanied by a colorful cushion)- can add personality to the space. In the case of chairs, the classics never fail. A Butterfly -also known as BKF- an Acapulco or Diamond, for example. If space is limited or we want to create a chill out atmosphere we recommend a low table and several poufs, either rigid or soft.
You can also make your own armchair or chill out sofa with pallets, for which you will need a mat or mattress suitable for outdoor use. A hammock or a sun lounger, accompanied by a small table can also be ideal for the spring decoration of the terrace. If its dimensions allow it, we can introduce a sofa or armchair, of course, with a special fabric and upholstery for outdoors. The model will vary depending on the style we finally choose. In case we have a large and open space we recommend using as the centerpiece of the decoration a puff bed accompanied by a coffee table. The Balinese bed -with or without canopy- full of cushions gives a glamorous, aesthetic and relaxing touch to the outdoors, without forgetting the feeling of comfort they transmit. Who can resist lying down to soak up the sun’s rays on this comfortable beauty? 3. Colorful textiles Use outdoor cushions, pillows or giant puffs to fill the space with color and multiply its comfort. You can abuse the prints, stripes and rhombuses -trend this year. We recommend using textiles in vibrant or pastel colors that give joy to the terrace.
You can also place a carpet to add beauty to the outdoors. On the other hand, an awning or sunshade, combined if you want with a net curtain, can also be useful if we want to reduce the power of Don Lorenzo on very sunny days. 4. Soft lighting We recommend soft lighting points. One or several floor lanterns or hanging lanterns give a casual and temperamental air typical of Spring. Candles, for the romantic atmosphere they recreate, can also be very useful for those starry nights full of aromas typical of this season. Another option is to opt for LED lights on the wall with which, incidentally, the plants are illuminated highlighting its colorful also at night. 5. Natural materials Wood never fails and in spring it is a classic. Rattan, bamboo, stone or glass – in general, materials that evoke nature – are perfect for terrace decoration at this time of the year.
