Although the good weather continues to be a long time coming, the presence of Spring is already visible. The horizon continues to be tinged with bright colors and the flowers are reborn with cheerful tones and sweet aromas. Life springs up all around and the desire to enjoy the outdoors is uncontrollable. In order to enjoy the garden with a renewed decoration we have been writing down some recycling ideas<\/strong> for its ornamentation that we add to our decotips to give a spring touch to the terrace.<\/p>\n

If you are an advocate of the ‘Do it yourself’ (DIY)<\/strong> culture, it is not necessary to spend too much to give a different look to your garden, terrace or balcony. It will be enough to ‘metamorphose’ everyday objects or old furniture to reuse them, so that instead of fitting in the trash they fit in the outdoor decoration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With this idea, we have compiled 10 everyday objects that will help you to give a different look to your garden or terrace after recycling:<\/p>\n

Used tires<\/strong><\/p>\n

Outdoor decoration can go on wheels by recycling recycled tires, given their multiple possibilities. Thus, the old wheels can be transformed into virtually any piece of furniture or ornament you can imagine: from a table<\/strong> to a fountain<\/strong>. The most common, and simplest, is to use them to create flower pots<\/strong>, planters<\/strong> or swings<\/strong>. They are also frequently used as seats. To ‘manufacture’ them you will need upholstery and fabrics suitable for outdoors that allow you to cover them and some kind of filling, such as the puff filling we use in Fiaka Ambient, expanded polystyrene balls with immediate volume recovery memory that increase the feeling of comfort.<\/p>\n

2. Old ladders<\/strong><\/p>\n

The old ladders can be transformed into theStairway To Heaven<\/strong> that Led Zeppelin <\/strong>talked about in their song,<\/strong> at least as far as outdoor decoration is concerned. After a coat of sandpaper and paint (sometimes it is not even necessary), its shelves can be used as ‘shelves’ on which we can place different details, such as plants to highlight the beauty of the garden.<\/p>\n

3. Glass jars, bottles and cans<\/strong><\/p>\n

Glass jars, bottles and cans can illuminate your terrace or garden by transforming them into unique lamps. They also offer multiple possibilities as original planters.<\/p>\n

4. The feet of an antique sewing machine<\/strong><\/p>\n

The beauty of the feet of antique sewing machines is indisputable. If you no longer use them, do not hesitate to convert them into a garden table because the results can be surprising.<\/p>\n

5. Pallets<\/strong><\/p>\n

The versatility of pallets for the ‘manufacture’ of recycled furniture is well known to all. Every day we see a multitude of designs based on pallets that surprise us and make us fall in love. Needless to say, its possibilities are also manifold outdoors. We can make anything from a table<\/strong> to a lounger<\/strong> or a bed, similar to Balinese<\/strong> beds, from pallets. They are increasingly used to create comfortable sofas on terraces<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For this purpose, you will need made-to-measure mats, made of materials that do not get damaged outdoors -either by the sun or rain- and that are easy to clean. Personalized cushions<\/a>, also adapted to the inclement weather and the friction typical of outdoor spaces, will complete the decoration of these comfortable seats.<\/p>\n

6. Wooden and plastic boxes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whether alone or stacked, plastic or wooden boxes, such as those commonly used for storing and ‘displaying’ fruits and vegetables, can be used to lift virtually any terrace furniture. From the basics – tables and seating – to shelving where you can store your own garden tools. It is also common to adapt them for use as planters.<\/p>\n
