With summer about to say goodbye to give way to autumn, we did not want to miss the change of season to talk about the decoration of terraces and balconies<\/strong>, exteriors that we love. While it is true that these spaces are eminently designed for the summer, they are also incomparable – temperatures permitting – to enjoy the incoming season and the metamorphosis that the landscape will undergo: the ochers will soon take over the horizon, dyeing the leaves until they fall to form chromatic ‘carpets’ on the ground.<\/p>\n

To achieve a cozy terrace or balcony from which to contemplate and, why not, ‘feel’ these changes, a few brief tips will suffice. Before planning its distribution, the size of the space should be taken into account, since it is not advisable to overload it if it is small. If you have a ‘size S’ it is preferable to opt for colors that give a feeling of spaciousness, such as white, and use ‘tricks’ to optimize space: an old ladder can serve as a shelf leaning against the wall, some hanging shelves allow you to organize belongings without taking up too much space, with pallets you can create a vertical garden and if we ‘manufacture’ sofas of works or wood we can incorporate drawers or doors so that its interior serves as storage. There are plenty of ideas to make the most of ‘mini’ places.<\/p>\n

Furniture and accessories<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The aesthetic options for furniture are innumerable, although it is essential to opt for
\n fabrics suitable for outdoor use<\/a>
\n<\/strong>This means that they are easy to clean, do not lose color and characteristics due to prolonged exposure to the sun or humidity, and do not wear out due to rubbing against the ground.<\/p>\n

Normally a low table is chosen with small benches or puff (mainly rigid<\/strong>, although some opt for soft<\/strong> ones). But there is no ‘rule’ without exception. For this reason, it is not surprising to use a high table with a romantic, vintage, rustic, etc. air and matching chairs.<\/p>\n

The recycled pieces (whether tables
\n pallet sofas or construction work<\/a>
\n<\/strong>) have become a trend, as they provide a different, personal and unique touch.<\/p>\n

If space permits, the chairs can be replaced by a sofa or a combination of several. Instead, a Balinese bed-usually<\/strong> without a canopy, especially if it is a balcony-can be placed to give an exotic, cozy and elegant air to the outdoors.<\/p>\n

Cushions, giant puff chairs<\/strong> as seats or ‘beds’ (such as the pear<\/strong> or the marina model<\/strong>), cushions distributed by sofas and some rugs create a comfortable space of unquestionable beauty.<\/p>\n

Decorative styles<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As we have mentioned before, this year eclectic spaces<\/strong> that mix different decorative styles are in fashion. In outdoor decoration, chill out <\/strong>or lounge<\/strong> styles prevail, with poufs, cushions, Balinese beds, furniture at ground level, etc.; Mediterranean<\/strong>, in which simplicity prevails, marked by marine-inspired blues or greens combined with white and terracotta; Ibizan<\/strong>, with white as the common thread; and rustic<\/strong>, an aesthetic in which untreated wood, stone and natural evocation materials abound. Some people resort to giving these aesthetics a romantic<\/strong>, Moroccan-inspired<\/strong>, ethnic<\/strong> or Zen<\/strong> touch.<\/p>\n

Lighting<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

If possible, it is best to opt for dim and localized light points. Ceiling and wall lights, LED lights, lanterns or lamps that allow you to adjust their intensity and diffuse the light are ideal for outdoors. Introducing ‘fire’ through candles and burners will<\/strong>also create an intimate atmosphere on balconies and terraces.<\/p>\n

Plants and flowers<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Plants fill terraces and balconies with life. The pots<\/strong> hung on the walls or on the balcony bars – giving a Mediterranean air -, the flower beds and planters full of flowers and the wooden trellises loaded with vines make it possible to splash the outdoors with beautiful colors, turning them into unique places of singular beauty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
