Recycling not only allows us to give things a second life. It also implies a commitment to sustainability as opposed to the widespread throwaway culture. Decoration has known how to take advantage of the possibilities hidden in materials and waste apparently destined for the container like few other sectors. We have already talked about the thousand and one materials that can be used to create amazing furniture, ornaments and details to give character to the design of interiors and exteriors: old wheels, bottles, containers, used light bulbs, wooden boxes, worn crockery … and a long etcetera. This time we stop at the pallets, a valuable raw material to design all kinds of original pieces with which to print character to the decoration. The versatility of this material, whose removable sheets seem like ‘plasticine’ in the hands of the imagination, have made pallets the kings of DIY (Do it yourself) and recycling linked to the design of interiors and exteriors.
1. Pallet sofa
Pallet sofa models are numerous. We have already explained in a tutorial how to make a pallet sofafor which you will need sandpaper, filler, paint, and plates to join the pieces together, in addition to custom-made mattresses or seats for pallets if you want to bet on its comfort and beauty. Do not forget to use a material suitable for outdoor use if it is a piece designed for a terrace or any other outdoor location.

Your lines will also depend on your imagination. Tables together or separated, with or without wheels, with or without glass on its surface, with a more or less rustic finish… it will depend on the style you want to give to the decoration.

5. Pallet seat-stand
